How did I become a naturopathic doctor?
My interest in natural medicine began while I was in my 3rd year of university when I decided it was time I stopped eating nutrition-less junk. While on international exchange in Mexico and tired of feeling bloated, cranky, and tired, I
adopted the Blood Type Diet and experienced dramatic improvement in energy, mood, and digestion very quickly.

When I returned to Canada I continued learning about nutrition, fitness, and natural health and achieved even more improvements in my health. After graduating from Queen’s University with an Honours Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree I worked in consumer packaged goods by day, but spent much of my free time learning about health. I continued to see amazing changes in my energy and well-being, opening up a whole new world of opportunities!

A time came when I recognized I was not on the career path that was right for me and I wanted to do something that I was truly passionate about and that would make the most of my natural abilities. I considered several career options, but ultimately realized that no matter what, I would still want to spend my free time learning about health, so I should find a career doing what I love (thanks Oprah!).

So, I quit my job (and all that came with it, including a corporate vehicle), moved (then moved again!), liquidated my retirement savings, took on student debt, and basically tore apart my previous life to transition back into student life at the
Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM). And I haven’t looked back since! Despite this major lifestyle change and all the stress that comes with 4 years of medical training, I became much happier and more myself than I had ever been.

My training
I am a graduate of the
Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) and received the Governors’ Award of Excellence for outstanding academic performance.

In addition to my studies at CCNM, I pursued education in personalized nutrition with Peter D’Adamo ND and the Institute for Human Individuality and classical homeopathy with Joseph Kellerstein DC, ND, FCAH, CCH and Helena Ovens ND, FCAH, CCH. I have also completed a program on Traditional Medicine in India through Child Family Health International, a rotation working with HIV/AIDS patients at Sherbourne Health Center, and an externship focused on classical homeopathy.

I am registered with the Board of Directors of Drugless Therapy - Naturopathy (BDDT-N) and licensed to practice naturopathic medicine in the province of Ontario. I am a member of the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND), the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors (OAND), and a Master of the Institute for Human Individuality (IfHI).
