Lab Testing

As a naturopathic doctor, I offer a range of lab testing including blood, urinary, salivary, hair, and other diagnostics that cover a wide range of concerns, such as hormones, thyroid function, cholesterol, gynecological concerns, infection, and many more.
Please note that testing available may differ depending on my clinic location. Here are examples of the most common types of testing I offer:
In-office:
- Blood typing
- Gynecological testing (including Pap, at Midtown location)
- Gluten sensitivity testing
- Food sensitivity testing
- Urinalysis
- Throat swab (for strep throat)
- Monospot (for mononucelosis)
- Secretor testing
- Saliva hormone testing
- Allergy testing (IgG and IgE for food, inhalants)
- Wide range of bloodwork depending on condition
Naturopathic doctors are educated in interpreting lab data and are trained to perform blood draws, urinalysis, and other common lab testing as part of diagnosis and to direct treatment.
What can I expect?
Many lab tests can be done on-site, such as blood-typing, throat swab for strep throat (streptococcal pharyngitis), spot blood test for mononucleosis, H. pylori blood test, urinary indican test, and urinalysis. Other testing must be sent away for analysis before results become available.
Lab testing results are used for assessment and treatment planning, to confirm a diagnosis, and as part of treatment evaluation. I review all lab results with my patients to ensure that they understand the information and implications for their health.
Why should I come to you for lab testing?
Performing necessary lab testing through your naturopathic doctor rather than relying on your medical doctor ensures that I have the information I need to create a personalized treatment plan that addresses your unique concerns.
