Jerky

Homemade jerky

Both these recipes are made easily in a dehydrator with a jerky gun (here’s an example) and store well in either the fridge or freezer. Much better alternative to store-bought jerky!

JerkyBeef jerky

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg extra lean ground beef (organic, grass-fed, and fresh is best)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp sea salt
  • ½ tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • ½ tsp ginger
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper
  • Or, whatever spices you like best

Directions:

  1. Add spices together with meat and mix thoroughly.

Kale Chips

Delicious kale chips

I got this recipe from my colleague Bronwyn Hill, ND and have changed it a bit for my own tastes. These chips are truly addictive and a great healthy snack!

Kale Chips

(makes 2-6 baking sheets worth of chips)

Ingredients:

  • Kale (1-3 bunches)
  • Oil of your choice (grapeseed, olive, walnut, etc)
  • Seasonings of your choice (salt, pepper, garlic, cayenne pepper, paprika, ginger, etc)
  • Any other ingredients you want!
