Welcome to what is likely to be my only post in September!
Where does the time go? Last thing I remember, it was July, it was warm outside (at least warmer than it is today) and I had grand plans to keep up with posting a new blog article every 2-4 weeks as usual. Now, suddenly, it is September and the whole month of August went by without a blog from me!
I’ve been pretty busy planning and executing my wedding, which finally took place this past Saturday!
I don’t think it matters how big or small your wedding is or how carefully you plan to NOT have it disrupt the rest of your life – it is a big deal and takes up a lot of space in your brain and your calendar! And sometimes life goes that way and you can’t keep up with everything you want to do.
H. Jackson Brown said:
“Marry the right person. This one decision will determine 90% of your happiness or misery.”
I think anyone who has ever been in an unhappy relationship can vouch that this is true!
Jim Rohn, an entrepreneur and author, said:
“You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.”
And, it stands to reason that those closest to you have a profound impact on your health and happiness.
With these things in mind, I wanted to share a couple of articles I recently read called How to Pick Your Life Partner Part 1 and Part 2. I found these articles refreshing in that they challenge us to think about the choice of a life partner (and yes, you have a choice!) the same way we think about other major decisions in life. That is, by approaching this incredibly influential issue using knowledge and experience rather that just hormones.
Enjoy!
